By Justin Hohner (Lynn's Grandson)

"It was my grandfather who sat at the helm of his fifty foot sailboat, cigar in hand, as he gazed out into a clear calm sea. The music of Jimmy Buffet competed with the calls on the CB radio from plunder hopeful fishermen, searching for the day’s big catch. As the sailor lit his cigar he brought it to his face, which was covered in a soft white beard, then emitted the sweet smelling aroma into the air. The captain’s topless, big round belly reflected a bronze tan from the midday hot sun. I had never at that time seen my grandfather so relaxed, finally living out his dream."

Hi Bethie and Lynn,

Linda and I have just spent the last hour reading your amazing blog. What an adventure!

We do feel pretty guilty for not writing...we've certainly been thinking of both of you.

We also looked at your wonderful photos. Many of the pictures remind of Popham!

We are so inspired by your trip...you are such a wonderful writer...I'm so proud of my baby sister!

Things are great here at home. Sheila and Rachel came for a visit last weekend. Mom and Dad are doing well. I'm trying to get over the see Dad and give Mom a break every two weeks or so.

Trev is doing great at school. He was the technical director in a major production at York University called "The Clown Show: A Tragedy". Linda and I went to the opening night and it was wonderful...in fact, hilarious!

Mel has decided to quit her job at the YMCA in Fredericton. She will be coming home at the end of the month and working from April - August at the Mississauga YMCA Employment Resource Centre. She hopes to go back to UNB in September to start her Masters in Education.

Linda is counting the days until retirement. In the meantime, she is driving around in her new Toyota Camry Hybrid (our first "green" car) and finishing first in her age group in 5 km races. We leave for St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands on Friday for a week...can't wait.

I had an opportunity to go to Beirut, Lebanon for a week in February. I was quite nervous about visiting a conflict zone but felt safe while there and had an incredible learning experience. I have lots of pictures to show you when you get back (when will you be home?)

All the best to you and Lynn for continued great times and a safe and fun trip home.

Love,

Scottie

Lynn - Bronze tan!! I hope you're using your sunscreen! Just kidding. Beth, I really enjoy reading the blog. Very nice job!

Patty might be moving to Salt Cay, south of Grand Turk. She and I might be making a quick trip down there in a few weeks to check it out.

Have fun and be careful.

Terry
